The Three Way Fight project has benefited from the work of a variety of activists and writers over the years. Several contributors identified a need to reorganize the editorial work of the project, and in response, the Three Way Fight has created an editorial board. It includes longtime contributor Matthew Lyons, more recent regular contributors D.Z. Shaw and Dandy Andy, and Joan Braune, author and editor of numerous books on fascism and antifascism. In addition to the editorial board, Three Way Fight maintains an informal network of contributors and supporters who participate in or advise the project in various capacities.
To reintroduce our editorial board, we have decided to dig up the first post of each member.
Matthew N. Lyons began contributing to Three Way Fight in the fall of 2005 with the essay “Notes on Women and Right-Wing Movements” (Part One and Part Two).
Dandy Andy has been active on the Québec left for fifty years, most recently as part of the province’s vibrant anti-fascist movement. His first contribution, in September 2024, was a critical engagement with the book Three Way Fight: Revolutionary Politics and Antifascism.
After publishing Philosophy of Antifascism: Punching Nazis and Fighting White Supremacy in 2020, D.Z. Shaw was introduced to the team working on the 3WF project. His first piece for the site was “Between System-Loyal Vigilantism and System-Oppositional Violence.”
Joan Braune’s first contribution to Three Way Fight is the recently published interview with Esther Warwick, Executive Director of Disability Communities Defending Democracy. As a further introduction to her work, we are reprinting, in a separate post, D.Z. Shaw’s review of her recent book Understanding and Countering Fascist Movements.
