In his writings about Iran and international solidarity, Iranian leftist refugee Shahabi argues that radicals in the U.S. need to oppose the U.S./Israeli war on Iran AND speak out against Iranian state repression. He also suggests that campism reflects a colonialist worldview, in which non-western societies are understood mainly through their relationship with the West, rather than as full-fledged societies with their own contradictions.
